Beta · For EAL leads and EAL teachers
EAL Timetable Builder
Build your EAL pull-out timetable in minutes, not days.
This is the new version, rebuilt for this site with every timetabling rule tested. It is in beta, so save your timetable to a file as you go. The earlier version is still available if you need it.
What it does
Set up your EAL groups and teachers, mark each year group’s specialist and MFL lessons, then drag lessons onto teacher timetables. The app checks every placement against the school’s timetabling rules as you go, explains anything it refuses, and can fill the timetable automatically for you to adjust.
How it works
- Works on a two-week timetable of five days and six periods.
- Groups are set up by year and tier, with sensible weekly lesson counts filled in for you.
- Each year group’s specialist lessons, MFL lessons and assemblies are blocked out first.
- Green and red slots show at a glance where a lesson can and cannot go.
- Every refusal comes with a reason, such as a clash with a specialist lesson or a group already seen that day.
- An automatic fill places everything it can, keeping each group with one teacher, and leaves the rest for you.
- Save your timetable to a file, load it again later, and export the finished timetables to Word.
- Everything stays in your browser. Nothing about your pupils or staff is sent anywhere.
